Fulbright Global Challenges Teaching Awards

The Global Challenges Teaching Awards support collaborative virtual exchange programmes between teaching faculty at U.S. and U.K. higher education institutions. These programmes, designed for undergraduate students, focus on global challenges related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Disinformation & misinformation
  • Health inequality
  • Peace & justice

These virtual exchange programmes aim to address critical global issues while expanding access to international learning opportunities, overcoming the limitations of traditional in-person exchanges.

Award details:

Honorarium: $7,000/拢5,510 per faculty member (paid in two instalments)

Institutional support fee: $3,000/拢2,360

Travel funding: Up to $7,500/拢5,900 for campus visits

Professional development: Tailored COIL-modelled training and mentorship

How it works: Grantees will participate in a year-long professional development program led by the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), including virtual courses and mentoring. Faculty members will collaborate with a U.S. or U.K. partner to design and deliver a virtual course. The course will be finalised for delivery by September 2026.

Eligibility:

  • Faculty members teaching undergraduates at a U.S. or U.K. institution
  • Support from home institution
  • Ability to travel between the U.S. and U.K.
